- How to Cook My Favourite Thai Dish -

*~ Spicy Basil Leaf Chicken~*

each and every time i go to Thai restaurants, this one-dish meal is a MUST-HAVE for me. and yup, of cuz, Tom Yam seafood soup is another favourite thai food of mine, too~

since i like it so much, i decided to learn how to cook that basil leaf chicken.
i surfed on the net, on the cooking sites, and finally, when i found the recipe, i gave it a try and it worked! lol. i'd say the dish came out much better than expected and i let my housemates try. they said it's good! woo hoo! (well i just hope they told me the truth rofl).

but, anyway, today i'm gon share with you the recipe for my favourite dish. it's quite simple to prepare and it's quick one-dish meal so if you are running out of time to cook "sophisticated" dishes, this is the one that saves ur time and will satisfy ur taste buds. ^^

Nang >( u can try this one kay? just don't grab junk foods and eat noodles. lol)

What you need:
  1. Obviously, chicken. ( Like me, you can get minced chicken to avoid mincing and spilling the meat all over the place hehe)
  2. 4-6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or grinded
  3. 2-3 onions/shallots, thinly sliced
  4. 2-3 teaspoon of black soy sauce (The sweet kind)
  5. 2 table spoon of fish sauce
  6. basil leaves --->
  7. 5-10 chillies, finely chopped ( Depending on the level of hotness you can take, kay?)
That's about it. See, you just need to get chicken and basil leaves; the rest __ I'm sure most of the kitchens stock them.

How you cook:
Okies you gotta heat a pan or a wok until the surface becomes smoking hot then put the oil, just enough to coat the whole of surface. Wait for a few secs for the oil to heat, then stir in the garlic, followed with sliced onions/shallots a few seconds later. Stir for few more seconds; then add chicken. Stir-fry a minute or two, until most of the chicken has started to change color.

Toss in the chillies and sprinkle black soy sauce over the mixture and stir-fry for another 15-20 seconds. Then add fresh basil leaves and fish sauce. Stir and mix well.

You can try tasting a bit of it when the basil is wilted and the chicken is cooked thoroughly. (If you wish, you can sprinkle with white pepper; I prefer it w/o pepper though.) If it tastes alright, you can already transfer the dish onto a plate or over plain cooked rice. You can enjoy the meal now! =)

Notes: This is a good and easy dish and one of the most popular thai dishes. It is usually served over rich as one-dish meal, often accompanied by a crispy fried egg atop.

alrightyy! now you guys can consider having a REAL nutritious dish in your meal. lol. i know how all of us'd usually feed ourselves with fast foods and noodles especially when the school is opened and we don't have enough time to eat out that much. now u guys can consider having a REAL nutritious dish in your meal; meanwhile, it's time to test your cooking skills. *wink* ;)

good luck and have fun cooking! ^__^
